What Dreams may become « Thread Started on Mar 18, 2006, 5:35pm »
Hello Bayview students! I am writing this message to hopefully give a better understanding of who, and what i am.
I graduated from Bayview in 2005, but i never felt like that was a big deal, to me it was just a stepping stone to the next chapter in my life. Shortly after graduating as some of you may know I joined the army. Or as I think of it i started my journey to understanding my self and the world better, i joined the army because of a belief, a belief that if i understood what was really going on in the world I could make a difference, and it was very important to me to get a first person view of what war, hate, and suffering really is. I needed to find out if Our president was in truth a lier, and was needlessly sending over young Americans to fight for something less then worthy of the death of a single person. Or if indeed we are actually helping people who are in great need, and at the same time securing our safety at home. I needed all the information i could gather about the past and current events, to gain a clear picture of what needs to be done to help stop human kind from destroying its self. I also wanted to know if the only solution to peace was through force and violence. It is definitely a harder path to gain purity and peace through conversation, negotiation, and understanding of each other's ways and cultures. Hell the United States could always just nuke the living crap out of the world, so we wouldn't have to worry about war anymore, except with in our own self, and country.
Its all about survival isn't it? Most of us want to live, some want more then that, they want to live or die for a greater cause, for something greater then them selfs. What ever it may be, most people have something that they cling on to, to keep them going, to keep on living for. For me its not for my own love, or friendship, its not for my own life, I'm not afraid to die and I'm not afraid to be alone. want to live for something, or even better die for something greater then my own. I know what i must do to be satisfied with my self, and thats to make this world better. What would honestly make this world a better place? And how can i make it happen? I ask myself this every day, and at night i pray to god to give me the strength to do it.
ok so i'll admit, i don't know much about governments around the world atleast in depth or to the point in which i could feel content with my knowledge. i am however, aware of what seems to me like a path to corruption. it seems like there are two main parties in this country and both spend their money d**ning the other. this i understand is normal but it has turned people with different beliefs on eachother and could get very ugly.
